General Description:
o Laboratory Technician Conduct testing to evaluate materials and products by following documented methods and procedures and documenting measurements and outcomes. Under the direction from an experienced scientist carry out non-routine experiments and testing.
Skills Required:
o Be flexible in moving between tasks, good time management skill
o Ability to work independently, able to take direction from supervisory staff
o Excellent oral and written communication
o Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
o Perform research and experimentation following established procedures and protocols in an efficient manner, maintaining complete communications with project leaders.
o Set up and operate various scientific tools and equipment. Perform routine lab and equipment maintenance and calibration.
o Record data and enter into reporting templates in Excel or Window based programs in compliance with site requirements.
o Plan and perform specialized experimental programs with guidance from experienced scientist.
o Recognize and communicate solutions to assigned experimental or operational problems. Ask for clarification or correction for anything observed that seems different than your understanding of the standard method or process.
o Conduct all communications and transactions with the utmost integrity and honesty.
o Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences, and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business support results.
o Comply with critical safety rules. Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner. Provide for the safety and well-being of fellow co-workers. Complete projects that include equipment, process and product that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines.
o Provide protection to technologies and products through non-disclosure of activities outside of the work environment.
Education/Training/Certifications:
o Entry Level position that requires an Associate's Degree/Bachelor's Degree or 0-2 years of equivalent experience. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
