POSITION SUMMARY
The General Manager of Prefab is responsible for developing and managing the operational strategies of the business. In addition, this person will play a key role in identifying business processes and policies to help define Prefab and tooling as a separate for-profit entity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work with Purchasing and Manufacturing Engineer to establish continuous improvement strategies and goals including cost, quality, and delivery measures for the business.
Work with the engineering and estimating team, production team, and financial team and the supplier base to develop and implement initiatives to improve variable and direct margins of the product offering.
Apply the 80/20 Operating Principles to BU Operations.
Assist in the development and implementation of strategies during our business planning process.
Strategize and propose/drive new ideas to move the business to higher level.
Develop tangible operational measurements and benchmarks to effectively track then drive improvements in business efficiencies.
Responsible for preparation and management of the operations manpower budget.
Must drive solutions by utilizing internal/external resources to solve equipment, tooling, and process problems.
Create superior team safety awareness that drives improved safety performance.
Coach and develop work teams to have positive and proactive attitudes, personal accountability, and superior quality.
Train employees to resolve conflict in a fair, consistent and empowered manner within a team environment.
Lead and support highly effective employee involvement activities.
Participate in committees/teams as required.
Demonstrate and encourage effective communication to personnel at all levels.
Identify gaps in individual performance and technical competencies then develop action plans to fill these voids.
Work closely with support and Human Resources to effectively support all facets of our business.

Demonstrated understanding of financial statements (P&L;) and applying 80/20 principles in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor''s Degree in a business related field (MBA preferred) and 7
years related experience in operations management; or
Any appropriate combination of education and experience as determined by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment, but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels from high-speed computer printers and other peripherals. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to various worksites may also be required, depending on assignment.
