Georgia-Pacific is seeking anEntry-Level Microbiologistat our iNNOVATION institute in Neenah, Wisconsin.
Job duties include working with product development on new consumer products with anti-microbial properties, competitive product testing, and manufacturing support. This position is part of Laboratory Services and reports to the microbiology supervisor.
Responsibilities
o Identify and isolate micro-organisms including bacteria, molds, and yeasts.
o Bacteriological examination of finished products including paperboard products, soaps, sanitizers, and wipes using both surface rinse and disintegration techniques
o Bacteriological inhibition/kill studies
o Product claim support
o Product efficacy/stability testing
o 28-day microbial challenge testing
o Maintain stock cultures of micro-organisms for testing
Basic Qualifications
o Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or Biology.
Preferred Qualifications
o Experience Identifying and isolating micro-organisms including bacteria, molds, and yeasts.
o Experience with Bacteriological examination of finished products including paperboard products, soaps, sanitizers, and wipes using both surface rinse and disintegration techniques
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities
o Relies on instructions and pre-established methods to perform job functions
o Ability to multi-task
o Effective verbal and written communication skills
