The Director of Market Development will be responsible for the research, plan, and implementing new market and product programs with an entrepreneurial approach toward market leadership.
The Director of Market Development will guide cross-functional teams that are charged with product line developments, including select sales team members.
This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products and services for the company.
Build solutions from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on industry experience and contact with customers and prospects.
Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company.
You will work with operations, planning & technical counterparts to define product release requirements.
You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.
You will also serve as the internal and external champion for your product offering, working with the sales channel and key customers.
You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

Summary:
Specify market requirements for current and future products and services by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
Use market research to create deep intimacy with specialized market needs.
Facilitate solution driven discussions with development teams (Engineering, Operations, Sales and Marketing) through the sharing of market requirements, product positioning and solution developments.
Create executable strategic market development plans for specific high potential and high growth areas and interest level against key sales benchmarks.
Work with all departments to develop and implement a company-wide go-to market plan, that will drive funnel building activity and sales specialization.
Manage and coach a team of 3-5 Business Development Managers.
Hire, train and develop the necessary sales and marketing resources needed.
Develop and enhance OG portfolio of accounts through relationship management of key contacts within customers' organizations.
Demonstrate a strategic selling approach by identifying key decision makers for various product areas, while successfully positioning and communicating a value proposition.
In close collaboration with the solution team, plan and execute market development events that have high impact in terms of enrollments and cost.
Travel to and lead events as necessary.
Participate in and contribute to long range planning with the OG leadership team and others to ensure revenue and market share growth.
Demonstrate confidence, practical intelligence and an accountability for growing new buyers and delivering revenue targets.
Build relationships with key market influencers, i.

, early adopter customers, thought leaders, industry associations, etc.
Analyze potential partner relationships for the product and services developed.
Choose smart strategies that include clear positioning, appropriate pricing, competitive advantage, and leverage of OG's value chain.
Conduct solid analysis of the opportunities and risks.
Solicit and analyze market feedback-which will include but not be limited to peer reviews, surveys, symposia, and focus groups to determine the overall market viability of products in development.
Meet sales and profit objectives for your executable plans.
Review & analyze cost/price estimates and utilize market price knowledge to create customer / market price strategies.
CRM (Salesforce) Administration Plan & execute 2-3 sales meetings per year.
Requirements Bachelor's degree (B.
A.
) from four-year college or university or 5-10 years of market development/product management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
7
years of experience in the printing industry Prior sales management experience Advanced knowledge of MS Office package and use of Sales/Marketing software The willingness to travel to customer and non-customer sites Previous experience leading a sales team.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
